Fullerton Hotel Floral Decoration for Deepavali

Was at the Fullerton Hotel for a buffet lunch, spotted this beautiful floral decoration at the hotel in time for Deepavali next week. At first sight, I though the floral was surrounded by little lamp oil but was actually LED light.

After lunch, walked around Singapore River, it was so beautiful especially after the rain.

Realise time passes so fast, these 3 years, did not do any travelling and my passport expiring soon. Hopefully, I can resume travelling next year.

At the time of writting, I am still covid free but most of my family members had covid but mild symptoms and recover well and fast.

Now there urge for us to vaccinate the new bivalent vaccine. I am so scare of vaccination, already vaccinated 3 doses and my last booster was so painful and was sick for 2 days.

Hope the covid virus will disappear soon.

Singapore Botanic Garden

Been a long time since I last visited the Botanic Garden. But this time is different cause the Botanic Garden was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Was here with my siblings and we had great time taking photos and strolling in the garden.

Great to see the white swans again but could not find the lone black swan that we saw the last time.

Was surprised to see several huge catfish in the pond. Dont remember seeing such huge catfish during our last visit. Will post the video of the huge catfish.

The famous tembusu tree (it was featured in our S$5 note).

Beautiful garden, nice to have picnic here too. Look out for several beautiful sculptures around the garden. Can view my previous post for other sculptures too.

The sundial in the sundial garden is very meaningful to me and my siblings. When we were toddlers, my parents took photo of us at this very same spot. After 50 years, we positioned outselves exactly as when we took the photo 50 years ago. It was really beautiful and brought back fond memories. Did not post the photo here due to privacy.

The bandstand was favourite with wedding photos, I took my wedding photo here too.

Lots of squirrels in the garden, I managed to take a good photo of one of them.

Spotted two very huge monitor lizard at the Tembusu Tree and a smaller one at one of the tree. Will post the video of the two huge lizards.

There's a National Orchid Garden at the Botanic Garden, I am not going to post here cause there's simply too many beautiful flowers here but you can view my previous post on the flowers in Botanic Garden.

China Square Central/Chinatown Singapore

Found a nice place in Chinatown, most would only visit Smith Street and Pagoda Street in Chinatown. This is China Square Central, diagonally opposite Pagoda Street. I was there on one Saturday noon, am surprised to find it like a ghost town, so quiet and empty. It was only popular during weekday lunch time with the office people cause it was near the financial district.

It was a waste that this place was ignored. There's many nice restaurants, histories and the murals on the walls are cute and make good photography background. This place is also known as Samsui Village cause the Samsui women made their home in this area. You can read the history of them from infopedia.

Actually the quiet ambience made a good place to get together with friends and families at one of the many restaurants.

Lots of statues at China Square Centre telling the early history of Singapore.

I waste no time in taking photos of the many murals in this area.

As I walked along, I saw this little door leading to some place, I thought it was a temple but there's a hotel inside here.

Map of how to go to China Square Central, the nearest MRT Station must be Chinatown MRT Station and Telok Ayer MRT Station. Source of Map from the free Singapore Map found in most hotels, tourism board, airport, etc.
